Traralgon (Kosciuszko St) Primary School is located in the township of Traralgon in the Latrobe Valley area. We offer our 310 students an attractive, safe and positive climate for learning. The physical environment is well maintained and there is adequate space for students to engage in specialist programs.
Our classrooms and school buildings provide excellent educational environments suitable to the various learning requirements of all students. Over recent years, our school has had seven new classrooms built, replacing out dated classrooms, and in 2026 we will see the completion of the new administration building which will hold a new library, and two new classrooms.
The new seven classroom building features sliding glass doors between all classrooms in a modern layout to enable student-focused learning, while also allowing for opportunities for student collaboration. Another important feature the refurbishment also includes are ramps, enabling access to all classrooms thus increasing accessibility for our school community.
The school gymnasium, colloquially know by staff and students as the ‘Hall’ offers a great space for physical education classes, art classes, assemblies, as well as a space for Camps Australia, our before and after school care provider to operate their program. The generously sized gymnasium and stage enables all students, staff and the community to attend weekly assemblies, a highlight of many students’ school week. The Art Room features modern furniture and art supplies for all students to participate to their full potential. Other specialist classes offered to our students are Science, Digi Tech, and Physical Education. All taught in stimulating environments with modern facilities and equipment.
Our expansive outdoor environment includes many areas for students to play and enjoy the outdoors during recess and lunch. Two separate adventure playgrounds allow for two separate playing areas for different year levels. Students also have access to an enclosed, sheltered sandpit, large grassed oval with a running track and a synthetic surfaced basketball court. There is an abundance of activities students can participate in during their break times including a large outdoor chess board, totem tennis, and table tennis. Each year there are numerous student-led lunch time activities, such as Chess Club, Drawing Club, Loom Band Club and many more, which help promote student leadership while providing highly engaging opportunities for inclusive play.
The Before and After School Care program, operated by Camps Australia is conveniently located on our school premises allowing families and students to access the program directly. Camps Australia also offers holiday care during the school holidays and pupil fee days held by our school.
In 2026, the Kosciuszko Street Primary School – Traralgon Kindergarten will commence operation. Whilst this kindergarten is not managed by the school, it has been built on the school site. It features two attractive kindergarten rooms and a beautiful play area. The placement of this kindergarten offers our school the opportunity to work closely together while maintaining our positive relationship with the other local kindergartens. As enrolments at Kosciuszko Street Primary School reach record numbers, we can all say that we are proud to be a part of such an inspiring school community.
